Special cells set up by the State Government’s Land Records Department to execute rapid land measurement within 10 days of a request by citizens was inaugurated in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad on the occasion of Maharashtra Din.

MLA Balasaheb Shivarkar inaugurated Pune’s branch, while PCMC’s Mayor Vaishali Ghodekar kick-started the Pimpri Chinchwad cell. Considering the rise in construction activities in the twin cities, the department had planned separate cells in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.

Speaking on the occasion, Shivarkar said that the department has initiated positive step to facilitate citizens. He also said the State should replicate this model across the state. Vaishali Ghodekar said the special land measurement cell will save the common man’s time, which otherwise would have taken months.
