as for ur problem, i say look something around pokhran rd 2 or ghodbunder rd... if possession seems some time away mayb u can rent some place for a yr or so.... i can understand ur helplessness sitting so far away....
dont take this the wrong way, but have u looked at any assisted living facilities (i.e. old age homes).... i know there r quite a bunch in the west which let u live with dignity and independence... not sure if there's something along the lines in and around mumbai....
