I am from Ahmedabad and would like to purchase a flat or plot in Ahmedabad or near by. My budget is around Rs 15L. Main purpose of purchasing is for investment purpose (atleast for now) with investment period of 2-3 years. Can any one suggest which area is good for future appreciation? How about purchasing in area such as Ghatlodia or Naroda? or any good area in above range?

I dont think you would be able to get on 15k.. I think you have to increase your budget then only it would be possible... As now adays in Ahmedabad property price are expected to increase also
