Default Importance of a good thread Title

All too often new members begin new threads with really vague/poor titles which is counterproductive and many of the "hardcore" members that would most likely have the answers you seek will just skim over the title without ever opening the thread and even reading it.

This forum has a wealth of knowledgeable people who are willing to dispense free answers and advice, many of them are experts who are only interested in reading certain threads, and if your thread lacks the proper title, it may get overlooked altogether.

For instance, If a member has first hand information on Orris Group and their projects, that member may only log on once in a while to skim over threads looking for people needing help with one of their projects i.e. The Carnation Residency in Sector 85, Gurgaon.

So if you post a thread that says something vague like How good is this builder? then your best asset, the guy who has good knowledge about this particular project of Orris Group guy is never going to even see your actual question.

Now if you posted that same exact thread in the Gurgaon section of the forum and used a very specific title like The Carnation Residency, Sector 85, Gurgaon – Orris Group " then Orris expert will most likely respond to your query in a very timely fashion.

Most of our knowledgeable members are very busy people who may only have a very limited amount of time to read the forums, So if you really want to pick their brains for information, the very first and most important step is to ensure that you get their attention right from the start.

Quote:
While creating a new thread, please make the thread SUBJECT as descriptive as possible.
Examples:

Good Title:The Carnation Residency - Sector 85, Gurgaon – Orris Group
Bad Title:Carnation Residency any good?
Really bad Title:How good is this builder?

Quote:
If you want to discuss some issue/s related to a builder/developer, devise a crisp Title for the thread with your Query/Concern regarding that builder. Just mentioning the name of the builder in the Title of the thread is not enough and a bad title.
Some more examples of Bad Titles:

  • Construcion Cost
  • 2BR flat on sale
  • Likely time schedule for payment under flexi/CLP plan

Quote:
Threads with bad titles will be gradually deleted or lost within the forum. As a result of a bad/poor title, the thread may not get proper viewership or feedback from other members. Whereas, adding a nice descriptive title will get your thread more viewership and due feedback.
THANKS
