They must be ingrained in the community already, not because they have taken a position that requires it.

So, ideally, no - members are not required to spend more time here than they already do, only to use their time differently.

This is the choice many many people out there make when they request moderator positions. They know it is voluntary, but they have a vested interest in the good of the community and generally either just want to give back, help make it even better, or just.. be involved in something.

Further, many successful online communities are started by those who have moderating experience in the past, as they become familiar with the software used and community management as a whole.

Should anyone feel over burdened or lose interest, that is okay too, sometimes the moderator group can be rather fluid.. but over time a core group is usually built that stays around for the better for a while, since they are here anyway.

What a great, pointed and polite reply of not so polite casual query.....Mr. Administrator, I really appreciate your way of saying things and convincing power...it shows that you have a mature head and years of experience in handling people and business.. Now I know the reason of success of this site....Only Great people can make great products!!!

Hi Admin,

It is just a suggestion that please don't appoint any more mods in Gurgaon forumns and freeze any open positions. the ratio of mods to number of active users in GGN already seems very high to me.
thanks,

Hi golu11,
Not trying to take anything away from your suggestion but if you could explain how the mod to user ratio works against the IREF experience would help all of us get positive feedback to improve something which we might unconsciously be doing wrong. You might be onto something. Thanks.

Hello,

I would want to join as a moderator for Gurgaon as I am very involved with IREF since last month. I have strong knowledge of Gurgaon Realty Sector and spend a lot of time on IREF.

I would like to apply for Moderator for Mumbai as I have a decent ground level knowledge of the real estate sector gathered by visiting several sites, interacting with investors and builders.

I recommend both Mikest & sohnaroad as both are active . Also performance of some of existing moderator trainee needs to be evaluated ....
