Default Love to hate Bannerghatta Road? Signal Free Corridor is planned

Everyone knows that everyone loves to hate Bannerghatta Road. The Government too is aware.

Therefore, they have plans to make it a signal free corridor and a 50 page Report is ready, with plans for 3 underpasses or flyovers at 3 junctions on this dreaded BG Road at Arekere, Bilekahalli, Hulimavu etc. In addition, we all also know that the Metro Train is planned till Gottigere. So, life will be heaven in 10 yrs' time on this road if all things fall into place. And of course, by then, property prices on this BG Road will reach for the Moon because of this planned infrastructure to ease traffic chaos. Road widening from the current 4 lanes to 6 lanes is also in place. Obviously, 100s of buildiings on both sides of the road will be demolished.

Though the above plan is ready on paper, I really dont know which of the above will fructify in reality and when. But you can atleast make your plans from now.

As the concerned department waits for budget allocation for the above works, if u actually always dreamt of buying a property on this BG Road but always dreaded it because the traffic bottleneck there sent shivers down your spine, perhaps reading this report may help u change your mind. U can collect it from me and read it. Reading it will also make u realise that prices are actually very reasonable now on BG Road considering the above project plans for this road.

Ever wondered why Prestige Nottinghill is so much far away from the main road - so also, Food World, Reliance Mart, Apollo Hospital, Mantri Elite, Mantri Residency and many more such big names on this road - ever wondered why they have left such a huge "set off" margin from the main road? Because they knew long time ago, during their plan approval stage itself, that they would come to "Bulldoze". Some who dont care, though they too knew, have constructed right till the footpath by bribing officials, needless to say.

If the TOI report on 2nd Feb is to be believed, this signal free corridor project has been put in cold storage due to lack of funds. Yes, may see the light of day in few years time.
