Refund of excess Registration amount - Indian Real Estate Forum

Hi friends,

The registration amount for new flats was bought down by the government from 7.72 to 6 % from June 1st onwards. I registered my Flat on June 8th but the bank had made the DD on May 20th. So it reflected the old amount (7.72%).

My question is: Can I claim a refund of the excess paid? If yes, then what is the procedure? I visited the Deputy Registrar in banaswadi but my God, he was so rude and arrogant. Simple refused and said that Government will not refund anything to anyone...

Ha Ha. Register office are always like this my brother. It is time to kick their ... How ever u can try with the bank once.
