The Revenue Department on Monday earned a whopping Rs 22.02 crore by auctioning just over17 acres of government land that was recovered from encroachers in Bangalore Urban district recently.
A piece of one acre land in Hagaduru (K R Puram) in Bangalore east taluk fetched 1.70 crore — over 400 percent higher than the guidance value. Hill Land Developers bought the land. Another big catch was in Hagaduru again.
A piece of 5.12 acre land was auctioned for Rs 8.58crore — at Rs 161.88 crore per acre.
The department auctioned government land in both Bangalore North and East taluks. The lowest rate in the auction was at Kempanahalli (Yalahanka) in Bangalore North taluk. A piece of 4.24 acre land fetched Rs 3.24 crore — at Rs 70.43 lakh per acre. The department has so far auctioned 620 acres of land across all five taluks of Bangalore rural district,earning over Rs 271 crore.
