Folks -

I am trying to invest some money in a peice of land and build a house on it after 3-4 years.

I am interested in the Madipakkam, Medavakkam, Pallikaranai, Chitlapakkam belt and am looking to purchase 4800 sqft and my budget is 80 lakhs.

Are there other areas (in this belt) that i should be looking at? Is this reasonable budget? Any advise?

Budget is reasonable and you should get a decent location. Additionally you can look at Sembakkam and Selaiyur.

I am owning a piece of land around 2500 sq ft in thiruvallur behind cater pillar company, probably a kilometer from main road(serumbadur thiruvallur road). I need money and so i want to sell the same. May i request the august forum to give me some details on going price for this area in thiruvallur.

I bought a 2400sqft plot in this exact location 2 months back for Rs 75 per sqft. But i also bought another plot last year for Rs 125. The agent who fixed the deal for me said that 2 years back it went all the way to 160 but its come down now.

2 grounds (4800sqft) for 80L in these areas looks impossible for approved usable lands. You can get marsh land in Pallikaranai for this price though!
Why do you need 2 grounds? Why not buy 1 ground in a good locality in a even closer to city areas like Velachery. You might get it if you are lucky.
