I learn, nearer to the Rly. Station- within 1 KM radius, the rent for a good 2 bed flat is in the range of Rs. 6000 to 7000 PM. 3 bed flats are not many. Either a 3 bed flat or house may come to Rs. 8000 to 12,000 range depending on the size of flat, locality and street. If you look for a flat with covered car parking, the rent may be more by Rs. 750 to 1000. The rent is picking up due to the nearing completion of the railway over bridge at Tambaram Sanatorium. This area is not a water scarce area and also no water logging problems. If the talks that a mofussal bus stand in the westtern side of Tambaram as well as railway terminus for south bound trains may come up in the foreseeable future may increase the rental possibility in due course.
