Question Velachery Ram Nagar 6th Street

I did a search and found the water logging issues at Velachery Ram Nagar, but also found that the issue is only in Madipakkam Ram Nagar and THERE IS NO WATER LOGGING in Velachery Ram Nagar.

Can somebody confirm ?

thanks

velachery ram nagar is not a low lying area and the 6th main 7 th main roads have about half a feet of water on the roads during very heavy rains but it drains off pretty fast due to the recent drain clearing done. this is the case with most places in chennai even in tnagar and mylapore.
in my opinion not an issue at 6th and 7th main road of ram nagar north extn in velachery.

pls confirm if this is the ram nagar abutting the MRTS flyover behing nathella jewellers, opp sutherland.

there is a proposed project in ram nagar 7th main of flats. nice location i have visited the place during last rains to see for myself and found 6"-9" of water which drained off in 2 days.

Thanks for the confirmation abk.

Yes, it is on the right from Vijayanagar busstand on Velachery main rd before the bridge. Opposite to sutherland, not sure about Nathella, have to visit personally to confirm.

Half feet of water shouldn't be an issue. Planning to visit this place today.

ram nagar has 7 main roads. 3 feet water is waist deep.i personally went to 7 th main via 6th main during the last rains and year before last.
the stormwater drains have been cleared now which were blocked due to the construction of the adambakkam 100 ft road and the MRTS work, the other blockages from the lake sluice are also being addressed.now the rain water has a free run to the marshes.
ram nagar and MRTS station are both at the same level and connected.the MRTS has mandated the solution to the problem.

may be smartboy I missed the deluge.

I live in this area for last 4 years, even people struggled (as you said waist deep water esp on ram nagar north ext) on 2008 Nov-Dec. Regarding 2009 no one knows, keep hearing people (esp builder community) repeating the stmt "problem is solved and no issue this year", year after year.

i enquired and was told that last year the lake bund broke and hence the problem is it 2-3 feet every year. bcoz a friend of mine purchased a flat last year we spoke to the corpn staff. they say the 100 feet adambakkam road work was the culprit and the problem has been addressed.
my friend who has purchased says he is satisfied with the location as it is very convenient for him to travel to OMR,MEPZ and with the adambakkam road getting ready to the airport.all other conveniences are already in place in velachery

abk, I dont have those details yet. I was just told that this location may be good. Just wanted to check with people here to see whether it is really worth looking.

Based on the inconsistent feedback on waterlogging, probably I will stay away from this place or wait till end of this year to see the logging issue. If it rains that much :-)

people who are looking at this location this year there was no water logging on the roads of ram nagar north extn velachery(not madipakkam ram nagar).

the stormwater drains have been repaired and the lake bund is being repaired and new canal are being dug to let the water to the marshlands and drain into the sea.

this is a nice and decent location and is worth a look.
