Default Customs duty on import of cars

Would like to discuss and understand , if it is advisable to import a car to india, if someone returns back to india..

how much costs are involved in this process.. the customs duty and any other govt charges..

Mr Sareen forget about customs duty how you will convert left hand drive car to right hand. I think in most of countries there is left hand drive.

Not quite true, most of the British colonies are same like India. Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, UK all are right hand drive.

I am also interested in the answer.

Gharondabhai you right.
The most of the British ruled countries having right hand drive.

Total no. of countries with Right Hand Drive= 75.
Total no. of countries with Left Hand Drive = 167.

I saw one Left Hand Mercedes Benz in Anand Niketan Area, New Delhi (Belongs to Embassy employee).

You can import and drive a left-handed vehicle in india, after some formalities with the RTO. In mumbai, it is a common sight with many Lamborghinis and other imported left-hand-drive cars on mumbai roads all the time.
