Default DDA Housing Scheme, 2006

Results for DDA Housing Scheme 2006

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced the results of its one of the biggest offers of housing known as DDA Housing Scheme 2006, under which, the authority has allotted houses in both the Higher Income Group (HIG) and Middle Income Group (MIG) categories all over Delhi.

These DDA flats have been allotted in areas such as Dwarka, Motia Khan, Jahangir Puri, Shalimar Bagh, Rohini, Bindapur, Narela, Kalyan Vihar, and East of Loni Road.

Often, DDA flats are looked upon as the last bastion of housing for the middle class as HIG flats usually cost between Rs 20 lakh – Rs 25 lakh as compared to MIG flats that contain a price tag of around Rs 15 lakh. However, the cost may vary depending upon the location. DDA has tried to clear almost a bulk of its housing backlogs through this housing scheme.

The last housing scheme has been launched by the authority in October 2004 (as a part of its festival housing scheme) under which the DDA had sold 12,800 flats which was believed to be more than their regular sellouts. The demand for DDA flats has seen a shoot up over the past few years and so has pricing.

Seeing an increase in the rates of construction material, the authority has added to the rates of its two and three bedroom flats by 40%. However, these DDA flats are still cheaper than the ones built under private construction which increase their significance.
