Default Delhi's new building by-laws to allow fourth floor

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Monday said it would implement new building by-laws for the capital allowing for a fourth floor in residences and enhanced covered area.

MCD Commissioner A. K. Nigam told the legislative wing of the civic body that it has already received required clarifications from the Urban Development Ministry.

Nigam said he had directed the 12 zonal commissioners to start the process at the earliest. The decision would allow people to build a fourth floor and make their building to 15 metres irrespective of the area covered.
