A UK-based realty developer has bought a 2.5-acre farmhouse in south Delhi’s tony Westend Greens for Rs 45 crore. Property developers reckon, at Rs 18 crore an acre, this is the most expensive farmhouse deal in India.

A lack of availability of space, snob value and the tony location of Westend Greens, say property experts, are the key reasons behind such a high price.

Along with Rajokri and Vasant Kunj, Westend Greens is the most sought-after address when it comes to farmhouses in the NCR, followed closely by similar properties at Asola, Pushpanjali and Chattarpur.

Easy connectivity has always been the talking point of Westend Greens. Accessible from the NH-8, the area is located near the airport, has good infrastructure and is home to many heads of diplomatic missions and leading industrialists of the country. Land deals are not very frequent in the area of late as everybody is waiting for the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway to become functional. The rates are expected to be jacked up further in Westend Greens as connectivity will become even better.
