Wink The National Capital Region (NCR)

The National Capital Region was created with a view to curtail migration to the city by developing the adjoining areas and relocating economic activities, thus supporting the lateral growth taking place in Delhi. As the urban economies are expected to be the engines of economic growth in the coming years in terms of productivity, developments have to be adequate enough to accommodate such growth.

But, most of us think that only Gurgaon, Faridabad, NOIDA and Ghaziabad comprise the NCR? Lets read these stats.......

The NCR constitutes the National Capital Territory of Delhi (1,482 Sq km), seven districts of Haryana (Gurgaon, Rewari, Faridabad, Sonepat, Rohtak, Panipat and Jhajjar – totaling 13,413 sq. km), five districts of Uttar Pradesh (Ghaziabad, Bulandshahar, Meerut, Gautam Budh Nagar and Baghpat – a total of 10,853 sq. km) and Rajasthan’s Alwar district (7,829 sq. km.). The four satellite townships – Gurgaon, Faridabad, NOIDA and Ghaziabad – along with Bahadurgarh and Kundli in Haryana constitute the Delhi Metropolitan Area – nowreferred to as the Central NCR. So, the NCR spreads over 33,578 kms

The NCR Regional Plan 2021 is being chalked out at present. Highlights include focusing and promoting townships like Paniput, Meerut, Rewari and others; providing better connectivity between cities through the Regional Rapid Transport System (RRTS) and constructing Expressway corridors Delhi along with focus on building a strong infrastructure.

Hey can you share the source of this info.....
Also that means that the prices of real estate in cities like meerut are going to skyrocket pretty soon. But there is a problem these small cities are so clustered that any kind of development here would not only be difficult but in some cases unwelcome also.

There is also the question of the willingness of the corporates to setup offices in citites of UP where the crime rate is a big deterrent. If there are not good sources of income in these places then no boom would be there either for the commercial space or for the residential space.....

I think this is possible only if the state and central governments work hand in hand. State government has to provide the security as well as assurances to these corporates for the NCR concept to be successful.
