India offers one of the "best" Overseas Property investment opportunities in the world, a leading real estate company has revealed.

According to Sternon, India offers Britons a solid investment due to its strong economy and its growing popularity as a holiday destination, particularly in Goa. "India is a very popular holiday destination, people love visiting areas like Mumbai and Goa especially. I think Goa is very popular," Hena Kishore, spokesperson for Sternon explained.

"Apart from being a holiday destination, people want to invest there because they know the economy of India is rising." She also added that the Indian property market was "completely safe", posing "no problems" for the overseas investor, with deeds, contracts and purchase agreements exchanged between the developer and the client.

However, she warned that mortgage rates from Indian banks can often be as high as 11.4 per cent, so investors may be better off looking for loans from UK banks.
