Oh yes, that's what politics is all about. If people cannot understand or respond to the effect of ecological and environmental destruction, its better to invoke the religious beliefs. And, can you prove that this project cannot harm the Goddess.
Do you see that India is a country which will remain poor for next 50 years (I don't believe in those GS reports), for the simple reason that its massively massively overpopulated country. Why cann't u stop progeny recreation or stop producing children in name of God.
Why do you want to destroy himalayas/earth in name of development ? Probably you don't understand hinduism then. These so many Goddesses allow you to actually respect and protect the nature in name of religion.
What is the development you are talking about? First produce children left and right and then to support them encroach on mother earth.
