Kerala Builders Forum (KBF), an association of professional builders from the South Indian state of Kerala, is holding a two-day property exhibition at the Regency Hall. Indian Ambassador Dr George Joseph would inaugurate the show today at 10am, said George E George, Secretary of KBF. The exhibition will be open to visitors from 10am to 9pm today and 10am to 1pm tomorrow.

Some 39 builders are showcasing their properties spread out in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikkode, Thrissur, Kannur, Kottayam and Thiruvalla. The total built-up area up for sale is 100m sqft and the total estimated cost is Rs20bn, said George. Housing units ranging from Rs1.1m to Rs10m are available for prospective buyers.

The organisers of the show will help arrange housing loan facilities from Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) and State Bank of India (SBI). Officials from HDFC and SBI would be on hand to arrange on-the-spot loans to prospective buyers, said George.

Those who want to buy apartments during the show will have to produce a salary certificate or job contract, two-month bank statement detailing salary transfer and a copy of the Qatari visa stamped on the passport.

The banks would provide 85 per cent of the total cost of each housing unit and the rest should be raised by the customer. Loan repayment period can be up to 15 years, said George. All the housing units are under different stages of construction. The organisers claimed that all the units are being built with high quality materials and once finished they will feature all the modern amenities.
