Don't take these news seriously, I am from Meerut and I have seen the reality of development in meerut from a little close angle.
Around 4 years ago, there was a big news in paper and electronic media of meerut, that Metro will connect meerut in next 2 years. I believe these fansy news will only be fruitfull for our children that too when they would have grown around 10 ~ 15 years. Quote:

Meerut Trisection is not in Meerut, its in the heart of Ghaziabad (New Bus stand). Any connectivity improvement from that T point to rest of NCR is a welcome news for residents of nearby residential area of Ghaziabad like Raj Nagar Extension, Nh-58, Mohan Nagar, etc.

These are three different projects:
Hgh-speed trains : From meerut pallavpuram to Anand Vihar Orbital trains : along with KMP, EPE Metro rail : Delhi Metro rail upto Vaishali/Ghaziabad. Metro plan for Meerut has been replaced by a high speed train(RRTS) as per recommendations from NCR planning board, Article: At a high-level meeting, chaired by Meerut commissioner, officials approved the route of high-speed trains. Orbital trains will link Metro rail and high-speed trains. The meeting, also attended by officials of Ghaziabad, Noida and NCR Planning Board in Meerut, decided the merging point — Meerut road trisection in Ghaziabad — for first-phase high-speed trains and Orbital rail. The DPR for the phase of high-speed trains has already been prepared. Orbital trains will provide greater connectivity in Noida, Ghaziabad and other NCR areas. This new mode of transportation, serving commuters in an orbit, will connect the NCR with Delhi. And save a lot of travel time. "Orbital trains will primarily move along the proposed Eastern-Western Peripheral Expressway. This will reduce traffic snarls in Delhi to a great extent. Heavy increase in traffic has made Delhi's periphery very chaotic. Orbital trains will bypass traffic bottlenecks," said a senior official. Noida and the proposed Greater Noida Metro are elevated. Officials are hopeful the design will help accommodate Orbital train on this route too. Once the facility starts Noida and Greater Noida will be connected to Alwar, Meerut, and Panipat. Lakhs of passengers will be able to roam around the NCR without getting into Delhi. Road users will also be able to use the facility. Tentative Orbital train stations will be Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Kondli, Bahadurgarh, Gurgaon, Faridabad. The proposed high-speed trains will be a mass transit system connecting far flung areas of NCR to the central parts of NCR (Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, etc.). It will have dedicated rail lines where no other train will run and it will provide fast and frequent train services. another link Green signal for high speed train project in Meerut - National News Quote:

Yes. High Speed rail + Orbit rail for Ghaziabad will have immense impact on the residential property market of this area. Already the NH-24 to NH-58 link road is underway which would enable seamless connectivity between Ghaziabad and Noida.
I think the crunch of the matter is the newly constructed 6 lane link road which is also called the new NH-58 or Meerut road bypass (which passes through Raj nagar extn). This road has opened up a plethora of oppurtunities for GDA to think about high speed rail, orbit rail etc. |

Be aware almost all projects are running behind schedule here, so choose builder where completion is more than 80% done. KDP is good, they have a large commercial project within the society which is being constructed. Else the River heights projects 1st phase is almost complete and you can find some ready to move in flats there. |

Any thoughts on Officer City at Rs. 1450/sqft (1900 sqft) and Plots by it at 22,500/sqyd (135sqyd)? I am interested in both and feel they are priced at a reasonable rate.
Seniors, please comment. |

I have never heard of this builder before. And since its newly launched, be ready to wait for ~ 4 years before possession. Better to stick to known names or where construction has completed to a great extent. I suggest you choose among: Ashiana Palm Court SVP Gulmohar gardens SG Impressions 58 Ajnara Grace KDP Grand Savanna Landcraft River Heights Quantum Even though the rates will be higher here, you will get peace of mind. And the area too looks ready to be liveable within next 1 year. |
