Personally for me, irrespective of Vastu or Feng Shui, I would prefer a corner plot so that I can get some unblocked views along with light and air circulation. Corner plot, not at the peripheri of the society due to security issue are generally prefered.

In NCR, I would prefer my NE direction should have maximum facing so that I can maximise the winter morning sun and can avoid summer afternoon sun.

In southern part of India, people prefer south side open for evening breeze.

To me light, air, unblocked views and summer heat are important.

For sunlight and summer heat, do remember that sun goes towards north or south in summer and winter season respectively.

Anyway, personally, I prefer apartment due to safety.

If the plot is of regular shape (square or rectangular), you have all the flexibility to place kitchen or bedroom to their desired direction .. so how does it matter?

What am I missing?
Let me try and explain it...according to Vaastu, the best direction for the master bedroom is South-West...now if you have a South or West facing plot...what you would need to do is to place the bedroom right at the entry and the best direction for a drawing room being North / East, you would need to take it towards away from the main entrance...if you really see no problem in a layout like this, you can arrange it the way you are suggesting. Similarly, there are preferred directions for kitchen etc...you will see that in an East facing or North facing, you are able to place the things meeting both the requirements..i.e. vaastu as well as physical convenience and proper placement.

At the same time, the opening of the house (i.e. facing or main entrance) being North or East are considered auspicious. When you go into further details, you would find that even within an East or a North facing plot also, their are prescribed portions which are really good for making the main entrance and and not the entire part of East or North. Trust, it helps?

I am surprised at the preference of North direction. I observed that sun moves along south on its way from East to West. So, south facing is the best direction to get sunlight. Why do people prefer East over South? Do they want less sunlight?

According to scientific research it was proven that morning sun light has more germ killing power, compared to afternoon rays.

Beside that, morning sun is pleasant in winter and bearable in summer, contrary to afternoon sun.

You are correct, many people completely forgets that sun has uttrayan and dakshinayan and due to that NE is considered better for bedrooms, halls, kitchens.

Precisely that was my point, if you have a regular size plot then you have enough room to play and to have the layout that you want.

What matters are, which direction is open and unblocked.

Entry door has vastu consideration but rest are within your control. Your entry door direction may be perfect but if rest 3 sides are already blocked by tall buildings .. what differences that vastu compliance makes?

May be my question is novice.
In plot facing is based upon the main gate. How we will decide facing in an apartment: Entry in the apartment or most of the balconies / bedroom / kitchen.

According to Vastu or Feng Shui, it's always the direction your main door is facing.

If you noticed, there is a fundamental difference betwenn the ancient types of house and current flats. Most of the windows are now in opposite direction.

Which Direction plot is considered better? -if plot is just opposite of girl hostel than you will get maximum premium

If plot is just opposite of Police Station.. then you will get minimum premium... your house can be robbed anytime...

If plot is just opposite of any politician.. than in few years... your plot will be snatched by politician and forget about premium.. you even don’t get what you paid

If plot is just opposite of any farm land... then you will get free of cost vegetables (dont ask HOW) so high premium

If plot is just opposite to any dairy... than you will get free Milk (dont ask how) so high premium

If Plot is just opposite to any IREF Veteran Members house... than no premium.. since that guy will always be on IREF so your neighborhood is always closed and you always feel alone.. so less premium
