नोएडा एक्सप्रेसवे की लागत का आकलन
यमुना प्राधिकरण को सौंपा गया है काम •अमर उजाला ब्यूरो ग्रेटर नोएडा। नोएडा-ग्रेटर नोएडा को जोड़ने के लिए बनाए गए एक्सप्रेसवे की लागत का आकलन शुरू कर दिया गया है। नोएडा, ग्रेटर नोएडा प्राधिकरण मिलकर उसके निर्माण और अब तक मरम्मत की लागत को जोड़ रहे हैं। इसकी रिपोर्ट शासन को जानी है। यह काम यमुना प्राधिकरण को सौंपा है। नोएडा और ग्रेटर नोएडा के लोगों को एक्सप्रेसवे की सौगात सात साल पहले मिली थी। इसे एनसीआर में सबसे बेहतर सड़क माना गया था। इसे नोएडा और ग्रेटर नोएडा ने मिलकर बनाया था। सिर्फ 23 किलोमीटर लंबी रोड पर कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स में साइक्लिंग प्रतियोगिता आयोजित हुई थी। प्रदेश सरकार ने जब यमुना एक्सप्रेसवे निर्माण के लिए जेपी ग्रुप से करार किया तो उसी दौरान यह समझौता भी हुआ कि इसके तैयार होने पर टोल प्लाजा बनाने के लिए नोएडा-ग्रेटर नोएडा एक्सप्रेसवे भी जेपी ग्रुप को सौंप दिया जाएगा। जेपी ग्रुप एक्सप्रेसवे हस्तांतरण से पहले उसकी पूरी लागत और खर्च प्राधिकरण को 10 साल में वापस कर देगा। एक्सप्रेसवे पर टोल टैक्स लगाने की बात पिछले साल सार्वजनिक हुई तो नागरिकों ने इसका विरोध िकया। इसके चलते प्राधिकरण ने भी शासन को लिखकर भेज दिया कि टोल प्लाजा बनाना संभव नहीं है। शासन ने स्थिति को समझा और हस्तांतरण की प्रक्रिया को रोक दी। अब यमुना एक्सप्रेसवे चालू होने का वक्त आ गया है। जेपी ग्रुप को नुकसान की भरपाई के लिए रास्ते निकाले जा रहे हैं। •सात साल पहले मिली थी नोएडा और ग्रेनो के लोगों को एक्सप्रेस वे की सौगात |

Govt against toll on Noida-Greater Noida e-way
The Greater Noida authority on Tuesday said efforts were being made to build a consensus with Jaypee Group, the developer of the Yamuna Expressway, to keep 24-km Noida-Greater Noida Expressway toll-free. The state government has built the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The developer has built the Yamuna Expressway (from Greater Noida to Agra). An agreement between the previous state government and Jaypee Group says both links will be merged and handed over to the builder, which can collect toll on the entire stretch. Authority’s chief executive officer (CEO) Rama Raman told Hindustan Times, “We have been protesting the builder’s intent to collect toll on the old link. But the agreement is in favour of the builder. If it goes ahead with its plan, we will move court.” Raman, however, hinted the builder could be compensated in other ways if it dropped its demand of toll on the old link. “A supplementary agreement allowing the builder to collect toll on the Yamuna Expressway longer than permitted now can be an option. But nothing has been decided as yet,” he said. The Noida-Greater Noida Expressway was built by the two development authorities in Noida and Greater Noida at R400 crore. The authorities here during Mayawati’s tenure had agreed to hand over the Noida Expressway to the Jaypee Group. But now with a change of guard in the state, the Samajwadi Party may not burden commuters on the Noida-Greater Noida stretch with toll charges. BSP’s decision had generated much protest up. The then district magistrate Deepak Agarwal even wrote to the government collecting toll on a stretch, which had been operational for several years, would create chaos. Government sources in Lucknow on Thursday hinted the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway might be retained toll-free and alternative ways aimed at financial viability worked out to make sure “all parties’ interests were intact.” Residents of Greater Noida are not against the Noida expressway being merged with the Yamuna Expressway but said they would protest toll up to Greater Noida. “Toll tax is levied to recover the cost of a road. But this highway has been operational for the last eight years. We will take to streets if toll is levied as it will put additional burden of over R1,200 per month on each person,” they said. HT |

UP govt says no to toll on expressway to Greater Noida
The Noida-Greater Noida expressway will be a toll-free road, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced. The developers of the expressway, the Jaypee Group, had wanted to set up a toll collection plaza in Noida’s Sector 144. This move would have been in accordance with the company’s agreement with the earlier Uttar Pradesh government, which was led by Mayawati, in 2003. The Samajwadi Party government, however, decided to put a spanner in the works and not collect toll on the expressway. “We are not in favour of charging toll on the NoidaGreater Noida expressway because it will pinch a large section of commuters,” Sanjeev Saran, the chief executive officer of the Noida authority, said. “Our proposal to the state government mentioned that toll would be collected only on the Yamuna expressway, and not on the 22km-long Noida-Greater Noida expressway,” Rakesh Bahadur, the chairman of the Yamuna, Noida and Greater Noida authority, said. YAMUNA EXPRESSWAY DELAY The inauguration of the Yamuna has been postponed by a month, officials said. The 165km-long expressway linking Greater Noida with Agra was earlier expected to be thrown open for use by the public sometime in July. “The Akhilesh Yadav government has not yet accepted the Yamuna authority’s proposal on a toll plaza. Then, how can the expressway be opened this month? First, the government needs to study and agree on the proposal. Only after that government will think of an opening date,” said Bahadur.
