NYC ki subway se kya compare kar rahe ho bhai 100 saal se ye system bina hile, storm, hail, monsoon me chalta aa raha hai. sirf ek bar dekha tha disruption jab freak tornedo aya tha ped ukhad ke ud ke wires pe atak gaya tha to number7 line disrupt hui thi 2 sal pehele kuch ghanton ke liye, us time bhi free busses chal rahi thi line ke parellel as usual apart from E, F, R lines. 3-4 feet baraf padne or hail storm pe bhi tum ghar se bas station pohonch jao train milegi 5 minute late sahi but milegi. doosra disruption Irene ke time pe jab rat bhar ke liye subway band kiya tha as a precaution. Roads and public transport (wherever it is) quality is way beyond gurgaon ke babu log can think off.You can drive on a 6 lane highway at 6500 ft above sea line curving around a mountain at 80 miles/hour, its just engineers building that had enough pride to give that slight elevation where needed to make the difference. Here our stupid sarkari engineers will build a honda chawk filled with water on half a millimeter of rain. I think we as citizen of Gurgaon should find these Infra Shame points. Put big hordings with photographs, addresses , designations of the engineers and babus behind the mess right where everybody can see it. Socially outcasting them and their families "may" work. |

If we compare with developed countries:
1. India has at par engineers and skills 2. Enough money 3. Cheap Labour See list of longest bridges, India is not far behind we have done fantastic engineering work. List of longest bridges in the world - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Then what is missing ??? ACCOUNTABILITY.. Developed countries mein aise sadak bana kar too dekho jo ek hee barish mein toot jaae. |

Question is not about the engineering talent we have here but ACCOUNTABILITY. As rightly mentioned, why NH-8 / DND do not crack open after first spell of rains???
Had it rained for 1-2 days, entire Gurgaon would have been an open drain with water flowing through every nook and corner... |

In US, people pay tax for the city they live in, govt use that money to provide infra for city e.g. roads. For highways they have toll.
In India highways have toll and they are well maintained, but what happened to cities, it could be either of two: 1. Are we not paying taxes ? or What we are paying is not enough ? 2. If we are paying taxes then why roads are not in proper shape ? Why they get broken, what is the law in india for Quality assurance. Which department is responsible for this ? Can a citizen of india ask question for a recent construction which gets broken ?? Please someone enlighten. Cheers !! |

Last month I have seen an episode of crime patrol..dastak.. they have shown real story of an honest officer who was working for highway authority. He was trying his best for the quality of the road, but killed at last. They have shown the entire story in such a realistic manner ... that was really touching..
Here in India If there are 1000 rupees granted for a road.. out of that for 600 rupees contract has been made with a big contractor.. that big contractor keeps his 200 rupees and gives that contract to small contractors for rs 400.. those small contractor keeps their 150 rupees and gives contract to local contractors for rs. 250.. local contractors have to keep their margin of rs. 100 and spend rs. 150 on road... so the road that was suppose to built with rs. 1000 has been built with 150 only. Even the local contractor who is building the road can't do anything in that. He has budget of 250 only.. he can't spend more than that even he doesn't take profit.. rest rs. 750 have gone for nothing.. but In US if 1000 is allocated... contract of 1000 will be given to big contractor and he will spend 900 after keeping margin.. so the difference.. We really need some good jan lokpal bill ... ![]() Quote:

All the investors, builders time to realize.
What made gurgaon IT hub ?? It was near to airport, with all these issues happening, power cuts etc. Cost of running is going high, muti-national companies will surely start evaluating alternative in other parts of countries and may be in other parts of world. And if they start moving so the people, so the jobs and gurgaon will be left only with investors no end users. Not sure how many of you can see this road ahead with current scenario, if we dont wake govt for infra then the day is not far when we will see IT companies winding up. 10 years back how many international airports were in India ?? And how many we have now, so Gurgaon is not the only city with an international airport(the only benefit that we currently have). Have seen people fighting between Noida, Gurgaon and other cities for investments truth is better city will give better returns, no comments which one, just stay tuned and see yourself. Most people are busy talking about rates, investments, profits.. but hightime, its alarming situation to talk about real issues which will drive property.. Lets not wait for it to burst. Cheers !!
