Default The Next Bubble ?

We have seen Many Bubbles in the last decade which has made many new Rich People.

E.g.

1) Stock Market Boom of 2000 and 2009
2) Real Estate Boom since 2004.

What is the next asset which is available at dirt cheap right now and will become a bubble after 5 or 10 years ?

The real estate will become dirt cheap first and then perhaps there will be another stock market bubble. When gold becomes a bubble is very difficult to understand. Gold may be in bubble territory right now, or perhaps it may be dirt cheap now. But real estate is very certainly in the last leg of its bubble territory.

Paintings and antiques are another interesting asset classes to ponder over. The craze of paintings has not yet picked up with Indian and Chinese rich class.

Jawhar,

Agree that Gold had bubbly movement in last 6-8 months. it needs some rest now.

i don't think real estate will become dirt cheap ever now. people will keep on becoming rich and owning real estate is a passion for indians when they have an extra dollar.

but a sizable correction should definitely come. prices are going in unaffordable range right now so demand is getting dried up.

Talking of bubbles...
Let me put up with some bullet points.

1) A bubble first forms naturally and then inflated artificially.
2)A bubble only forms in asset classes in which retail crowd can participate
as they will the only driver of it in last legs of bubble.
3)Bubbles are always rotated in Land, stocks, gold/silver,bonds all other asset classes cannot form a serious bubble coz of lack of depth and inclusiveness in the masses.
4)Each bubble can be justified by 1000 reasons whle it is a bubble and unjustified by 1000 reasons after it has popped.
5)End of buuble is marked by most conservative investors buying in the bubble, that is why it is said that wherever japan invests thatasset has trouble as japanese are precieved to be extremely conservative.
6)one who has booked losses in at least one of the bubbles, mostly makes money in subsequent bubbles.

We are currently in last stages of a RE bubble,70% into a bond bubble and started into a gold bubble halfway, while stock bubble has still not burst completely.
Bubbles individual to any country are less harmful than a global bubble.
In last 1 year i have visited 10-12 countries and seen housing bubble in almost most of them even in desert of egypt...understand the severity of this global RE bubble.

it could be a souza, raza, hussain, manjit bawa, v gaitonde and tayab mehta.. the top big guns... but they are largely unaffordable to most so cant be on list of ppl like us..

coudl look at new fav, of galleries like subodh gupta, ram kumar, somnath hore , akbar padamsee for big ticket art...

to make good invt. in art the idea is to identify new artists and invest in them.. the art galleries do ajob of market making in most such cases..

yes this is a asset class with a future but still less understood and largely dominated by big pvt players...

I am still bullish on gold and silver. They are backtracking due to dollar play against Euro. The financial crisis has not ended but on the contrary getting deeper and deeper. Look at the banking stocks in USA, UK and Euro zone
