Our ancestors very well knew this. but certain things have to be explained to common man in a way they understand. Supposing I say the earth raises and sees the sun in the morning hours people think it is funny. Rather if I say sun raises in the east in the morning it is more realistic.
This may be the reason our ancestors preferred while explaining Vasthu and astrology.

if the 4 main directions are comming in the corners of the house is it ok.

If the main directions are in all corners of a house, the house must be built on exact center of the plot, i.e leaving all sides an equal open space.
All the rules are to be followed for other actual corners like north-east should be left vacant. (This direction might fall at the center of the house.) Hence convenience might be affected. otherwise it is good only.

Can you prove why Vastu is wrong? Man, we too are made up of Panchamahabhut. Air, water, land, fire, sky have direct impact on us. Vastushastra as name suggests is Vastu (place of dwelling) + Shastra (Science).

VS is based on 2 things:-

1. Earth gravitional force &
2. Sun's position.

Eg. Sleeping with head at south gives better blood circulation as earth's axis is N-S. Similarly, having washroom in west is good as the UV rays of sun kills the germs in the afternoon. Then there are facts based on Uttarayan-Dakshinayan as well.

Vastu shastra itself means science about dwellings.

Can someone pls tell me if it's OK to have main entrance of the flat towards south (when I'm getting into the house from outside) / north (when I'm coming out of the flat from inside)

I really get confused with the directions in Vastu! Everyone says "East facing" flat is good, but does it mean that when I go out, i will face east ? or does it instead mean that when I come in I will face east ?

I'm buying this flat where the direction is below

South
Living room
____________ (MAIN ENTRANCE DOOR)
Lobby
North

Can someone help pls ? Is it okay to buy a flat with above direction ?

In apartments main doors are important of course. What you have shown is a good door position. Apart from main doors you must confirm other places also as per vasthu.
master bedroom shall be in south-west
kitchen shall be either in south-east or north-west
