The burgeoning real estate sector in the city found a reflection at the property fair, organised at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. The fair was organised by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers of India (CREDAI) and G S Marketing.
Visitors braved the rains to throng the fair in large numbers and glance through the real estate projects that are going to dot the skyline of Kolkata in the coming days. Ashok Gakhar, spokesperson for G S Marketing, said, "We have been conducting this fair for the past seven years. Each year, visitors have increased by 25-30 per cent. Such fairs help buyers and sellers to congregate under one roof." Flats ranging from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3 crore were up for grabs in the fair. The fair, which is being held from July 5 to July 9, saw more than 70 participants, including real estate developers, realty marketing companies and housing finance corporations. Most of the prominent developers like Bengal Shrachi, Unitech, PS Group, Pioneer, Sureka Group and others had set up their stalls at the fair. According to Ashim Kumar Srivastava, an official at the PS Group stall, the visitors at the fair are mainly interested in residential property. "Stalls at the fair help the formation of a transparent marketing channel between buyers and sellers and help customers avoid dubious real estate brokers," said Srivastava. Officials at the stalls of realty marketing companies like ICICI Home Search and HDFC realty said that many customers approached them to enquire about projects approved by them, so that they can safely invest their money. Partha Mukherjee, junior officer, sales (commercial), said, "We suggest our clients the names of properties which are free from legal hassles and for which, they can procure home loans easily." Visitors at the fair were upbeat about the prospects of browsing through the stalls at the fair. Venue: Netaji Indoor Stadium Date: 05 - 09 July, 2007 |

Hi!
I strongly believe that such property fairs help a lot in providing real estate market a nice platform. Moreover, they serve as one stop shop for investors to understand the ongoing trends, explore prospects for buying and selling property, and see the complexities that meet the eye. Thanks for sharing the snippet. |
