Property purchase spree in Mysore
Once known as a sleepy city, Mysore is all set for an image makeover. Though industrial investment is picking up slowly in the Information Technology and other sectors, the construction industry has seen boom with large funding on apartments and shopping malls.
Fifty major apartments and shopping mall projects are underway in and around Mysore, according to the statistics with the city corporation.
The land cost has tripled in the last five years. Today, a modest flat costs not less than 30 lakh, which is double the rate that prevailed two years back. The demand was good. Major inquiries came from Non Residential Mysoreans, software professionals from Bangalore and other cities. They show a keen interest to settle down here.
Mysore Municipal Corporation has issued over 100 commercial building licenses. Of them, more than 30 under-construction buildings are apartments. Many commercial complexes are also about to start construction. Two mega projects in the pipeline are Central Park at Ideal Jawa premises by Shalom Voyagers and Makkaji mall project by Maverick Holdings. The Central Park will have 1500 flats with shopping complex, swimming pool and playground.
