Right the intent was not to ridicule anyone but was to show that the prices are not really worth it.

Thats right. I am interested to buy house in this area only because of better lifestyle. But still these rates are highly overpriced. But do you think it is still ok to pay such rates just because of location.

The rates of better areas with good connectivity like kothrud, are higher because most other areas in city has lots of infra problems like water/roads/trafiic etc..
While this is not in case of developed countries. And so people have lots of choice. Even if they stay 50/100 kms away from city-center, they can use metro to commute. Not so in pune, so rates go sky-rocketed in a few better connected areas.

One thing which was left:-

The per capita income. Spending INR 50L for average Singaporean is much easier than that for avg Indian. Apart from infra, one also needs to compare the incomes of the city too. Btw, the Singapore's internal roads are much better than NH4 bypass:p.

As far as people not going to Singapore is concerned, man how many can get jobs there at first place compared to local demand? The problem is that not many Indians travel abroad. Had this been the case, no-one would have bought in DP projects.

*PS:- There are wise people who don't travel abroad but don't buy in DP projects too as they have more common sense than builders' theory. However, as said many times, common-sense is uncommon.
