Hi all,
I am planning to book a flat on 11th floor(2nd last) in a 12 floor apartment complex. This flat on 11th floor, satisfies all our requirements, but we are not sure if we should be staying on such a higher floor. Flat on all lower floors are sold out(in real sense, the builder showed us all agreement details). In summers, electricity is a major problem in Wakad area. Though builders mention that lift would be hving backup,we arent very sure that over the years, how much maintenance would be done to ensure 100% backup of lift. We r getting a decent rate form a builder and want to book this flat, but there's this doubt about lift maintenence... Any inputs from you folks? |

Hi Smita - your worry about the lift is logical, but personally I think - if at all the lift is only problem, then I would be worried at any floor above 6th. so if you ask yourself, had the flat been on 8th floor instead of 11th - would you still go for it ?
If the answer is Yes - then I think you should go for it !! Again this is my personal opinion !! Good luck !! |

Even I am thinking in same terms.... If 7th floor is fine, thn 11th floor shuld be fine too!! I m really confused.. Any other issues(other thn lift) that may arise just cos its higher flooe? |

Usually the floor below the top is the most in demand floor and not available unless you pay a premium. Get it while you can. The elevator troubles should not really be a hindrance if its a good builder who has used standard quality elevators like Otis/Schindler and there is a proper maintenance infrastructure in place.

Just check whether there is hydro-pneumatic pump installed. I have seen that the water pressure is comparatively low on higher floors in absence of such pumps. If you have rain water shower, it is strongly recommended to have high water pressure for the same. For regular taps though, it won't make much of a difference

The room temperature can be slightly more compared to 1st/2nd/3rd floors. IMHO 11th is THE place to live in a 12 storey building ![]()
