May be BR and MP would be good place to rent when thousands of buyers (investers) will be chasing one renter!

What kind of question is this? There is no such thing. May be a captive of some non-BFSI European company.

Maximum time you spent while commuting to Hinjewadi is last 5 KM. So it does not matter where you stay beyond that. Wakad, PS, Aundh, Balewadi, Baner, Pashan, Kothrud - all are fine. It makes 5-10 minutes of difference.

Best bet will be to work at non-standard time e.g. 12 pm to 9 pm when traffic will be less dense.

Correct. Those last miles will make up most of your travel time. This is also one of reason why Blue Ridge etc make more sense. Rather than staying in Pune and spending 10 hours weekly to travel (and save just 2 to 4 hours in a week since you are near to other amenities), better to stay in H'wadi and save all that time.

And travel for 10hrs/week to the city to get the basic stuff as well. Man, it doesn't make difference whether you are traveling from point A to B or B to A. BR, Mpolis will be livable only when good infra is created around it as well. You can't limit your life to Hinjewadi only. And man, more than oneself, I strongly believe that the convenience of family members should be taken care of first. When you have parents, small kids with you, you can't expect them to travel miles then. Better you travel alone on long route & provide rest with good infra. It is better to be in Baner & travel to Hinjewadi.

Lot depends upon the real frequency of travel. Main daily travel needs are office and school. Both are satisfied in the township like BR. What remains is grocery etc which proper planning you can manage in one or two ts per week to main city (also you travel in time of no traffic). But in following situations this no more hold true
1) You spouse works in main Pune (or worst M'patta/KN )
2) Your spouse pursuing some university degree and have to travel to main city
3) Your parents have need to travel to main city on regular basis
4) Your kids are in college that is in main city

More worse is situation (GOD forbid) is that if some family member is hospitalized (in main city) , it will be big strain on all family (and if that person is you, it is much worse for your family).

All in all, I can say is that BR, Mpolis at current stage (or for that matter entire Hinjewadi area of now) is good to stay only if it is a DINK (double income, no kids) family & both working at Hinjewadi.

One more point:- No one is dependent on public transport & you have a spare car with a chauffeur to pick & drop your guests as well. I don't think any autowala will come to BR from Pune station, nor will you be able to go there as well. Maybe, you could tie up with some cab driver then!!

So true real!!.
However, I must add that if husband/Bf is working in
Hinjewadi, spouse would not mind shifting to hinjewadi ( even if she is working in MPTTA/KN) irrespective of how that affects her work-profile or income because in general, and its my personal opinion,
ladies do look for convenience and less travel time/stress.

So if its DINK and both s/w types, MPolis/BR is not such a bad idea.

I believe there already are and in future ( 'cause many s/w typs are marrying other s/w typs) there will be, quite a few families which
fall in this category.

All this provided you don't mind living and working in the same area.
Which may not really be as 'loser like' idea as it sounds considering the
dwindling state of affairs of Pune public infra/increasing cars/traffic snarls.

well, security is another concern.
a month back I met one of my college friend, and he said he was considering buying at Mpolis but did not as the area is insecure for families. He works in TechM, close to MPolis.

Hinjewadi is not in livable condition - my personal opinion. It will take another 5-6 years (hopefully) to be a good area.
