Regarding salary at onsite, All the Indian companies, big or small, pay poor onsite salary. Comparision was with average salaries offered by American companies for that experience and skill set. I guess its accepted fact that all big Indian IT companies, which concidently all happen to open shop in Hinjewadi are popular in campus interviews and fresher, because they send you onsite in a year or two. So I said good for bachelors who want to go onsite. You typically buy house to spend rest of your life there, in career terms till you retire. Now you dont want to go onsite when you are 40+ yrs old and share your apartment with other. Do you? So what salary is paid in India is what matters. Buying house in Hinjewadi you almost restrict yourself to these few companies in Hinjewadi, which you might repent later, is all I wanted to say. "Live near your office" is not exclusive to BR and Megapolis, This is very much possible when staying inside city. In fact you inherit the issues/problems mentioned by realacres and compuwala by choosing to buy house in Hinjewadi, is all I wanted to say. It would have been a entirely different story, if Hinjewadi was full of small good companies paying good salaries and good work culture. Get the point? Last edited by RAJESHP; 13-03-10 at 04:54 AM. |

So in that sense I see NO emergency of buying an house, although will settle in Pune. (I have few houses in Mumbai) ![]() With current rates in Pune, buying seems more of a luxury. Last edited by hitmady; 13-03-10 at 09:12 AM. |

I don't see any particular area which is good for commute to different IT parks in Pune. Hinjewadi is not only IT park in Pune, there are plenty of companies outside Hinjewadi(in fact many good companies are out of Hinjewadi). |

Kothrud as well, though the time required to reach Hinjewadi will be less due to NH4 from Chandani Chowk.
