PS: Razer, I hope i am correct in putting myself at wants to buy in 2010.
Ditto with me too. I want to buy in 2010, but won't buy if price is steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

I missed the bus, boat, train, plane, ship, bullock-cart, tonga, cycle, rick, tum-tum, etc. in 2004.

And how sad that really is

Bought a flat in Jan 2006, but still voted for option 2, since the boom had just started now. That was purely for investment.

Want to buy now in 2010 for self residence.

Clear winner emerging.

Nothing out of the ordinary or surprising, just the obvious, but the stats make it look prettier.

I'm going to draw some rather controversial conclusions:

1. Bought in 2004-2005, not looking to buy anymore.
You guys got it right, and now no longer want to risk anything anymore. The satisfied bunch.

2. Bought in 2004-2005, looking to buy again in 2010.
You guys got it right, and want to get it right again. The never satisfied bunch!

3. Couldn't buy in 2004-2005, want to buy in 2010.
You guys have seen 2004-2005, and think 2010 could be your ticket?! Don't want to miss this 2010 "tonga" bunch!

4. Couldn't buy in 2004-2005, won't buy in 2010.
Will rent for as long as it takes, won't buy even if the builder begs me to. The super-satisfied, don't care bunch.

5. Bought in 2009 dip (March to September). Now doing bhajan-Kirtan!
We bought, now what?! bunch.

Now that sounds like a typical Management training course test or some astrological prediction!

You ask candidates some question and then group them into various categories based on their answer, like innovative type, born leader, company loyal, Risk taker, Born businessman, Good worker, etc.

You forgot one thing... charge the company a Bomb as Management consulting fees and book 2-3 apartments somewhere and then write an article in Media that.. IT professions earn a lot of money.

There will not be too many responses to category 1 and 4. If these guys are not looking to buy, they are unlikely to visit this site and vote on such poll.

I bought in 2004 and again looking to buy in 2010. Once I buy, I am not sure whether I will be visiting this site once a day like what I am doing now.

Default Bought in mid-80s. Waiting to buy after 2-3 years ...

Bought in mid-80s and seen appreciation of over 70000% even at these prices (not a typo). When it was bought there was very low interest in RE and now there is too much interest in RE (confirms the strategy that you must always rent when interest is too high, invest when interest is too low).

Annual rental yield alone is currently over 30% of original investment in land and building!

Not looking for buying more and accumulating cash and waiting patiently for another once-in-a-lifetime opportunity soon (my opinion .

Can never be unhappy with investment as it always shows positive ROI since its bought at distress prices.

cheers

Man, you should have added the options:-
  • Didn't wanted to buy in 2004-2005, want to buy in 2010
  • Didn't wanted to buy in 2004-2005, won't buy in 2010.
