Default new int airport - RE PRICES

Where is the new international airport in pune located (at least supposed to come up)? Will RE prices increase towards that part of town..? which is the closest developed locality near the new airport? Any idea?

Guys, How can you expect the RE price impact if any new Intl Airport comes nearby. There will scope for commercial spaces like Hotel and travel related businesses but for residential, I don't think, there will be any appreciation or ppl should think of investing there, it's almost like living in high tech villages of planes but no internal roads, hospital, grocery stores. You may have to go to custom shop for your daily needs like cigarettes, wine but for vegies n millk, you have come to nearest habitable village..

Someone who will have overseas business that makes him travel a lot might want to buy close to the airport.... but wait a minute if one can afford to travel abroad so many times means he/she must have a lot of money.. that means he/she will prefer to stay is the elite areas of KP or Boat club road or other such areas.. then who will stay close to airport.

For others who travel abroad 1-2 times a year... i think will not care as to from where they reach the airport.

Let's talk about more realistic infrastructure issues which effects RE buying/appreciation.

Projects such as new Airports are tightly linked to the political red tapism and may not take off until we get old.

As of now, consider buying RE where there is basic infra in place or will be in place. If at all Airport comes in your lifetime, enjoy the vicinity and some appreciation.

Well, is it possible that someone invest in that area buying an apartment (rather booking at a builder) or buying a plot only to find he actually made a deal on runway of proposed airport ?

After educating myself through this and other forums, I think yes its possible;

Puser,
Some people did this in chakan & lost. Buy only when tender is out, not before. Who knows it may well end up like Singur or Reliance's power project plant in UP whose result which went against Reliance came today.

International airport or not, wasnt Chakan supposed to be this big auto hub ?
regards,
-Rahul

Here are some of the points posted on NaikNavare's Dwarka project page.

Considered one of the best industrial areas in Pune
Industry majors like Bajaj, York (India) Ltd., Jindal Soft, Minda (India) Ltd., Reinder (India) Ltd., Bajaj Electricals and other MNCs are located in MIDC Chakan
MNC auto majors like General Motors and Volkswagen are in the process of setting up operations in this area
Chankan lies at the centre of Maharashtra's golden triangle - Mumbai Pune and Nashik are all well connected with Chakan
The proposed Pune International Airport at Chakan will add immensely to it's value
Proposed ring road around Pune, passes through village Mhalunge,
bringing the site right on the upward swing

^^ Same what builders in Balewadi claimed for games & Kharadi builders on IT park. The above statement is builders' ad campaign. Had chakan or Maharashtra been truly auto hub, Bajaj wouldn't have closed it's shop here nor would Tata Motors HCVs & nor would Nano gone to Gujarat.

We require power generation first. What's the use of setting up factories without power? No wonder more than 30% of SMEs have shut their shops in PCMC in last 10 years.

PROPOSED, man I hate this word in builders' brochure.
