Australian realty firm LJ Hooker is setting up a network of realtors across the country. Ramneek Bakshi, principal, LJ Hooker, India, says "Currently, we have a network of 750+offices globally. We want to establish LJ Hooker in India to meet the requirements of the domestic consumer. Our product is substantially different from the services currently available from the independent broker in this market," he adds.
Bakshi feels a self-owned model would have limited market penetration and is restricted to individual offices in the larger metros in the country. "Through our franchise model, we are servicing the Indian public at large, primarily the retail consumer. And like LJ Hooker, we assume other large branded players will enter the Indian market soon.

We are partnering with forward-thinking individuals who may not necessarily be from a traditional real estate background. LJ Hooker is very selective when choosing its partners as we want people who will embrace this paradigm shift from today's practices," he adds.
