Thumbs up Good real estate agents

Good real estate agents don't "sell" real estate. They help people find and acquire properties. There's a big difference in those two concepts.

Being an agent is more like being a combination detective, counselor, and coordination expert.
  • Detective because you have to find the perfect property...but,
  • You won't know what your people are truly looking for unless you're a good counselor.
  • Once you've made the sale, you'll shift into coordinator mode to get the deal closed.
  • And back to counselor if problems develop along the way.
Approaching a real estate career as purely a sales job--where you get the contract and then leave them hanging--just doesn't cut it. Sure, you'll sell some houses, but will your clients tell their family and friends that you did a great job for them--or that you simply wanted to make a sale?

Cool How motivated are you?

That was interesting Benz.

People decide to become real estate agents for many reasons.
- Many like to work with the public.
- Some want to be in control of their own schedules.
- Others are interested in buying real estate for themselves and think that agents have access to "the best deals."

No matter what your motivations are,
Take a little time to become familiar with the 'realities' of being a real estate agent before you jump in and become licensed.

No Licensing yet

Aadesh,
with due respect to your words, Licensing is still not a part of realty in india. So your post doesnt bring out the relevance of look before you leap action, as you suggest here. It is more in developed economies like US, Canada and UK, where licensing is mandatory

Default This happens only in India...

Although, we cant find anything like licensed real estate agents in indian real estate dictionary but will it really bring any difference in real estate ethics even if any such criteria is brought into effect.......

Stillm, most NRIs fear to park their money in Indian poroperty market because of the existing corruption in the concerned sector......Can licensing the Indian agents or brokers change their thinking? We need to bring modifications in the ethics which exists nowhere here.........
