Dear Amit,

Not to forget the fact that the wait has already crossed 30 years and in my case, passed another generation, i.e. from my father, who was the original registrant, to me. So the financial gain does not mean substantive to me.

Several years back, both my late parents had dreamed of owning, constructing and living in the plot. Unfortunately, this could not happen in their lifetime. Hence, for me, rather than the financial benefit, it will be a plot with which I would remain emotionally attached.

I did some search on DDA's website and found out the priority no. last covered. You may wish to give it a try. Alternatively, give a call to any property dealer in Rohini, especially those dealing with new Rohini allotments (who have now become pro-active). They will have clear idea.

DDA questioned on the 1981 housing scheme

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has demanded a status report from the DDA on the flawed 1981 housing scheme.

Earlier, the DDA had promised the court that it would allocate 16,000 plots in Rohini according its 1981 housing scheme.

A division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Sanjiv Khanna has told the housing body to give its report by May 18.

This followed a PIL filed in 2009 by a petitioner, Rahul Gupta. In the last hearing, the court had hauled up DDA for not allotting plots to 25,000 people even 25 years after the scheme was announced.

The court also asked DDA to explain why the agency had deprived so many people from their rightful ownership and why the occupants need to pay a higher price for their plots.

In the petition, Gupta, who had applied for a plot under the scheme, said "around 84,000 registrants had applied for plots under MIG, LIG and Janta categories under its housing scheme.

"Till 1989, DDA had allotted the plots through computerised draws and assigned a waiting priority number to the remaining registrants," Gupta said

"Thereafter, DDA kept delaying the process on one pretext or other, saying allotments would be made provided sufficient land and infrastructure services are made available by concerned agencies like the
Delhi Administration and Municipal Corporation of Delhi," he said.

Countering the allegations, DDA, in its affidavit before the court, had said the delay in allotment was due to the non-availability of the anticipated number of plots for reasons beyond its control.

It also said plots could be made available to only 16,000 registrants and promised it would allocate them by May 18.

"The approval of the competent authority is required since as per the Master Plan 2021, only 8 per cent of area in a residential pocket can be earmarked for development, the DDA said.

So 25,000 people are waiting for plota and DDA is planning to allocate 16,000 plots subjected to approvals. So about 9000 people will be still left with a registration Parchi.

I am looking to buy a parchi and am looking for info on what priority number is going to be cut-off for the list of 16,000. Brokers here in Rohini either have no info or they are just not interested in telling the fact to a prospective buyer of parchi.

Can anyone here offer any info on this?

DDA had earlier made a commitment before Delhi High Court that plots would be allotted to all waiting registrants. While the Times of India report says that DDA will allot plots to 16000 registrants by May 18, it is silent about pending 9,000 registrants. My Priority No. is 16700 something in Rohini MIG category. Does anyone have any clue of the possibility of this priority no. getting covered?

Default Parchi Rates

Thanks for the prompt revert Mr. Dinesh, Sectors 30+ in Rohini have a prevailing rate of Rs.1Lac per sq mtr. and i suppose registration rate is arroud Rs.36k., then What is the calculation behind 1Cr...

Strange... but pleasant to hear.
Any update on Priority numbers expected in next lot.??

The moment allotment letter is received, the plot of 60 sq. mtr. will fetch somewhere around 1.0 cr. So, be careful while deciding about the parchi.

Due to increased pressure from media, public and reprimands from Delhi High Court, it is learnt that DDA is planning to allot plots to all pending registrants on the condition that necessary infrastructure will take place in near future. Usually, plots are alloted only after necessary infrastructure is first developed.
