The trend is going to continue as more and more people start enjoying ther life in the these enclosed societies....and once infra is in place GF will beat all others sectors.
Currently I'm living in Singapore on 11th floor and can guarantee that living on a high-floor is much better as compared to lower floor in terms of Clean Air / Traffic Noise and View.

All my life I lived on third floor in Delhi, when I booked my unit in Piyush heights I chose a 5th Floor unit. But now after living in a high floor and knowing the benefits, I've booked a 14th floor unit in ERA at DEW.

So, I would suggest not to go for lower floors as with lifts available, it does not matter the floor in terms of ease of accessibility.

I find it weird in North, most ppl prefer low rise where as in Mumbai and rest of the cosmos its high rise which has more premium.
Living in HK on 43 floor, its amazing in all sense.
When I booked flat in RPS I opted for high rise which had lot of options to choose from, more demands was for low rise

thats because high rise is still a relatively newer concept in north. After few yrs people would start realizing the benefits of staying on higher floors and premiums will start to reverse..

The difference in North and west (read Mumbai) is the temperature. This is the major deterrent, other wise upper floors are always better. Also, I am leaving in one of the CGHS in F'Bad in 3rd floor and frequent power problem, poor maintenance of lift and occasional water problem makes life very difficult for the residence of upper floors.

IMO GF will be not be bad for pollution and noise and staying in any floor will be OK, I guess. (I have booked fifth floor, was not interested in PLC for lower floor)

I was talking to my bro-in-law yesterday and he said there has been specific demand coming in for upper floors from end users now, so we can assume that the trend has started to kick in.

Well I also booked 10th floor for me in a project yesterday when 5th floor was available on the same rates but since its for end use I prefer upper floors.

Many towers in Gurgaon are 20 plus floors and people are living their comfortably. It is only mind set. The high rise building trend in north is very recent (hardly 15 years) after the development of Gurgaon, where as it is very old in Mumbai. So, will have to wait for next gen to start preferring upper floors...till then PLC will be levied only on lower floors...

Only god or BPTP knows what are the deciding factors in their moves. Yaar climate in Delhi/NCR makes life in top floors hell especially during summers, uske neeche sab theek hai.
