Wink Status of FNG

Hi,

There a lot of confusion on IREF about FNG. I'm creating this thread to keep IREF readers on the track to current status & progress on FNG corridor.

In Year 2003-04 NCR Planning board had approved construction of two major expressway around Delhi as regional development plan 2021 for NCR. These two are called.....

1- Western Peripheral Expressway - It is to link Kundli, Manesar to Plawal hence it's called KMP. The total length of this expressway is 88 kms., out of which 74 kms. passes through Delhi and 14 kms. through Haryana, thereby linking NH-1 at Kundli to NH-2 at Faridabad via NH-10 & NH-8. The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways indicated to construct this Expressway, provided the Right Of Way of 150 meters is acquired and given free of cost for construction. The total cost of the project was estimated at Rs.1735 crores

2- Eastern Peripheral Expressway - Locally called KGP as it is to connect Kundli, Gaziabad to Palwal. It consisting of two corridors :

A. Faridabad-NOIDA-Ghaziabad (FNG) :
B. Ghaziabad-Kundli (GK) corridors :

Now WEP have had a nice takeoff which evrybody knows, whereas EPE had always been in trouble and work could never be awarded till yet.

NHAI had started bidding processes for 3 times. First two times no one but Relience Infra bidded for it as NHAI rules don't allow work to be awarded to single bidde,r bidding processes had to be reinitiated.

However in third bidding process which got closed on 27th Jan 2011, a total of 24 companies have submitted their bids.

It is said that the bids will be evaluated in next one month.

As for the confusion wheather FNG will pass through faridabad or not please go through the link ....

I will keep on updating this thread for further news regarding EPE.

Here are the list of questions i have asked in RTI. I hope it will get us some clarity.

1) Has the State Governments completed land acquisition for Eastern Peripheral Expressway
falling in their jurisdiction?
2) Has work/tender related to Eastern Peripheral Expressway been assigned to someone? If yes
please provide the name of the party.
3) By When Eastern Peripheral Expressway is supposed to be completed and ready for use?
4) As per NCR PLANNING BOARD Eastern Peripheral Expressway is supposed to be
consisting of two corridors (A) Faridabad-NOIDA-Ghaziabad (FNG) corridor and (B)
Ghaziabad-Kundli (GK) corridor. Please confirm if there is change of plan for having these 2
corridors and if there is a change, explain new plan in detail.
5) Will commuters from Faridabad will be able to get on it. If yes please give details of the entry
point/Points from Faridabad to Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
6) Please provide a comprehensive list of all the cities/areas falling in route of Eastern Peripheral
Expressway in Haryana and UP State.
7) Please provide a photocopy of Eastern Peripheral Expressway summary map clearly outlying
all cities/ areas it will cover/cross.

Good Work Rajeev, Please post RTI reply for benefit of all once you get it. There is news in times of india today for a new expressway proposed connecting faridabad and noida.

Times of India 04 Mar:
NOIDA: In what will reduce distance and save travel time for thousands of commuters, the Noida Authority has approved a proposal to build another expressway from Gautam Buddha Nagar to Faridabad. Once completed, the expressway will offer commuters direct connectivity to Faridabad and they will be able to avoid the massive jams seen on the route. The 75-m wide expressway will start from Sector 150, on the outskirts of Noida. A four-lane bridge will also be built on the Yamuna, taking the expressway to Faridabad.
The plan has been included in Noida's Master Plan-2031 by the planning department and the proposal has now been sent to the state government for approval. Once ready, the 14-km expressway will allow commuters to avoid the congested Badarpur bypass. The expressway will have entry/exit points between sector 150-152 in Noida and close to Greater Noida's Pari Chowk. Going through Noida and Greater Noida, the expressway will reach the Yamuna bank and then go on to Dalelpur in UP. Also passing through Haryana's Mehatpur, Lalpur, Bhupauni and Khedi villages, the expressway will reach NH-2 near Palwal.
The authority is waiting for a final nod from the state government and is expecting to begin work soon. "It will benefit people across NCR, making their travel faster and smoother," said Rajpal Kaushik, senior town planner of Noida Authority. "Once work begins the expressway will be completed in three years," he added.

Headlines in the newspapers were exactly the same in 2005.

6 years later there is nothing on the ground.

History has a very bad habit of repeating itself.

I have got response from NHAI for the RTI. The one thing that's loud & clear, EPE is not for commuters from NCR be it GZD, Noida or FBD. Details of as per the map of the route are.......

Interchange 1 - Kundli
Yamuna bridge no-1 at Mawi Kalan
Interchange 2 - Mawi Kalan
Hindan Bridge near Muradnagar, Dohai
Interchange 3 - Dohai
Interchange 4 - Dasana
Interchange 5 - Beel Akbarpur
Interchange 6 - Taj Express way
Yamuna bridge no-2 near Laltipur village, Grater Noida
Interchange 7 - Atali village, Faridabad
Interchange 8 - NH2 Palwal - Near toll plaza at NH2

As per Google there is a very small road which goes from Tigaon village to Atali. One traveling to Noida from FBD will have to use this road to get on the EPE and then get down at Taj Express way, Cross Greater Noida & then cross Noida - G. Noida Express way....which does not make any sense. NH2- Kalindi kunj- Noida would be far shorter, distance & travel time wise both.

Now there had been some article in News papers mentioning bridges being build to connect Noida Faridabad by HUDA & Noida Authority. I doubt their reliability. When NHAI changed the route saying "dense settlement in the area" how can you expect Noida Authority & HUDA working together to acquire land & do this development. RTI can be the option to get truth out.
