Its been in more than one occasion and on more than one thread, some or other member has claimed he has been misled by some senior or veteran member.

The main reason is hidden agenda behind promoting some projects by some member (who are actually borkers/underwriter/ sales persons etc.) is the flawed policy of IREF which enables a member to change status by just number of posts/ one liners.

Mods and managers at IREF need to seriously rethink about the policy, how a member changes his or her status from member to senior or veteran.
Some suggestions could be



1) Time factor : Man how u smart guys could miss it, have some time factor attached to seniority status, give one year wait to become senior member and two year for veteran etc. Add the filter for good.

We see some members graduating to become senior just before or during some new project is launched.

2) Activity in number of threads : How can a member become a veteran or senior by posting in one or two threads only. His seniority shall be restricted in this case.

We see a lot veterans developing in one thread only.

3) Taking out one liners out as posts : Have a filter that a post will be counted as post only if it exceeds a minimum of 300 or 400 characters.

As again we see many one liner veterans.

4) Activity on number of cities : A guy knowing and participating in discussions in multiple city will understand and comprehend better about the overall scenario.

REMOVE THE LABEL OF SENIOR OR VETERAN MEMBER ALL TOGETHER



P.S. : Mods should take the thread in positive spirit as it will allow the IREF to grow as better forum.

But why do you recommend or preach seniority status or a tag itself...
This is not a new thing..On various city forums within IREF such issue has been notified to IREF. Why even change status to Sevnior or a Veteran here..

By the way..who is guranteeing your knowledge or posts...Is writting on IREF university or Institute's exam or paper that needs to be qualified to be a senior or a veteran...

The "member" "junior member" "senior member" stuff is all based on post counts, always has been. Anyone who has ever joined a forum out there are probably familiar with it.

Heck, if you ask me, we should consider removing that title completely, as well as their post count.

Also posts in some threads like "Joke of the Day" (though i love that thread) should be excluded from the count for the purpose of membership status... There could be (rather are) some Joke seniors...

Removing member category and/or post count is best though...

This was done long time back . All posts in "Coffee Lounge - Discuss Anything" & "Real Estate Humour" r not counted ( these contains the "Joke of the Day" thread, along with many other threads ) . In fact, when this decision was taken, count of posts ( made already ) in all threads of "Coffee Lounge - Discuss Anything"/"Real Estate Humour" were deducted from the count of individual posters/bloggers . Whenever a thread is shifted to "Coffee Lounge -Discuss Anything" / "Real Estate Humour", count of posts get deducted from all individual bloggers, who have made posts in that particular thread .

yes.. I have 2800+ posts only in "Noida Extension thread"..which is approx 38% of total posts of Noida Ext... thank god.. I am not veteran member anymore...
