Unitech Cheated me - Indian Real Estate Forum

I booked a flat with Unitech Uniworld Capella in 2008 under the subvention scheme.

10% of the amount approx 7 lacs was paid by me and 85 % financed by ICICI bank (60 lacs)

Balance 5% was to be paid upon possession in June 2011.

All EMIs during this period of 36 months from June 2008 were to be paid by Unitech.

Suddenly I started getting calls from ICICI bank that my EMIs were not paid by me.

I realised that Unitech had stopped paying the EMIs to the bank.

I went to the project and was told that the project never took off due to legal reasons. No one even bothered to inform me.

I was offered alternate properties to have my loans transfered, which were not acceptable to me. Therefore I asked them to refund my money and the bank as well.

This was done by email, letters, and even a legal notice, to which there has been no response at all.

God please me and all other people who have invested their hard earned money with this group. What is more surprising that they are coming out with advertisments of new project launches every other day..

God also help poor share holders of this company.

This calls for a real estate regulator. Have you tried Consumer Protection Act if you are covered under the definition of a consumer.

looking at complaints like these I am quite nervous abt unihomes 3 noida! any idea what happened to unihomes 1-2 .. are they on track or delayed ?

no never invest in unitech projects. these unihomes 1 and 2 are also very delayed. people who have invested are repenting now.
