Property in Chandigarh - Real Estate Chandigarh Discussion
This city is both a union territory and also the capital city for the rich agrarian states of Punjab and Haryana. Chandigarh is also world renowned as a clean, well-planned and an architecturally superior place. The distinction with which Chandigarh is celebrated also has a lot to do with the fact that it was the first planned city project undertaken by the Government of India, post-independence. Hence, the city has seen well-controlled and legal builder activity that has led investors to come here in droves. One of the best aspects about staying in this city is that slum dwelling population here is almost negligible, which puts it even ahead of Delhi and Mumbai in terms of living standards. Adding another feather to its cap is the number of infrastructural projects undertaken by the administration, like Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park Phase-I, being built as a special economic zone. The city also has its own airport by the name of Chandigarh Airport that connects it to other major cities in India. But that is not all, to cater to the growing number of guests and investors`, construction of a new international terminal is also being undertaken. Also, the city has Chandigarh Railway Network and NH-21 which interlinks it to major regions of India. The big projects that are currently running here and have evoked keen interest among real estate watchers are: Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Tech Park Phase-I and Phase-II, Conversion of bitumen roads to RCC roads, Chandigarh International Airport, Nehru Centre for Performing Arts and Botanical Garden etc. As almost all parts of Chandigarh are seeing builder activity, yet due to growing popularity of property in the city, the rates have become quite high and this has led to a situation where only the high-end users can ever afford to buy a plot or an apartment/flat here.
