Property in Kolkata - Real Estate Kolkata Discussion
City of Joy, and erstwhile Calcutta, Kolkata, is the current capital of the state of West Bengal and has the distinction of being the former capital of British-governed India. The state has emerged as a prime commercial and also as an educational hub riding high on the cultural depth that it boasts of. Since it is a major center for education, hence, the rental market is driven mostly by students that come here from all parts of India. Yet, the commercial aspect of this city is equally enticing for those seeking job opportunities, and who are also willing to relocate to the city of joy. The property in Kolkata actually first tasted success at the end of an eventful 20th century, but it has successfully retained its traditional cloak that gives it a unique look. The city has Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, which happens to be the largest airport of Eastern India that connects Kolkata to other cities and also foreign countries. The infrastructure of this city is good and it is part of one of the biggest highway projects in India like the Golden Quadrilateral that connects it with other prominent cities of India, namely: Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. To give a boost to the existing infrastructure, Howrah and Sealdah, Circular Rail system, National Highway 34, underground railway system - Kolkata Metro and also the tram network have been started by the government. The key localities that have made their mark in the real estate market here are Jessore Road, Rajarhat, Behala and Narendrapur. The builder activity is high in these areas with people buying mostly to milk the rental market here.
