The joint venture deal that was sealed last week between Arvind and Tata Housing Development Company is pegged at Rs 1800-Rs 2000 crore, reports CNBC-TV18's Vineetha Athreya quoting sources. The 50:50 JV project will develop an integrated township project in Western Ahmedabad.
The residential cum commercial project, located on the western outskirts of Ahmedabad, is spread over 134 acres and will have a built up area of more than 9 million square feet. The selling price for Ahmedabad project is around Rs 2,000 per sq ft. The construction is likely to start immediately and commercial launch is expected in four to six months.
It is learnt that as part of the deal, Arvind will get Rs 125 crore towards land partnership. The land on which the project will be developed belongs to Arvind and is estimated to cost around Rs 250 crore.
Tata Housing currently has over 45 million square feet of real estate under various stages of development and it is looking at establishing presence in emerging tier I, II cities, said Brotin Banerjee, the company’s chief executive and managing director.
