  • Rent Deducted 35K out of 1L and no painting at the time of entry

    Hi All,

Recently I moved out from a rented accomodation after 2 years. When I moved-in in the flat, owner promised for painting but never came back.

While vacating they deducted 35k from deposite saying that walls are very dirty and require double painting, please help me in this regard and I am looking for a lawyer.

    Thanks,

    J

Do you have a written agreement with the Landlord and at the time when you moved in & when the Landlord didn't paint the house, did you bring this to the notice of the Landlord in writing & got the same acknowledged?

Whether it was painted or not in the initial? It is true that the walls will not be in the same condition before 2 years but deducting 35k for painting is too much. The best thing would have been is that you could have done painting on your own which could have reduced the cost.
