A leading developer, who is constructing a huge housing complex near 8th Mile on Tumkur Road, was found to have encroached upon government land besides diverting the natural gradient of a raja kaluve.
The encroachment came to light during the inspection by the members of the Standing committee on Public Works. “The 320-metre-long and 10-metre-wide raja kaluve passing through the area has been filled up and used for construction. The natural canal has now shrunk in size and has been diverted to about 60 feet away from its original place, to enable the construction,” a Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) release, said.
Besides, the developer had encroached upon 1.21 acres of kharab land worth about Rs. 18 crore.
The release said that the approved plan by the Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) had also been violated though this 1.21 acres was to have been kept for public purposes.
The Joint Commissioner (Dasarahalli) was instructed to stop the construction and recover the encroached land. The official has also been directed to initiate legal action against the developer.

  • Somewhere in Bangalore, currently now at this moment, an Apartment Project is coming up on Government Encroached Land and the Apartments are being sold to people. All approvals are in place with the Builder.

    The Survey No. is 111/2.

The only way u can save your skin is by checking if your Project has Survey No. 111/2 in it and if so, get it double checked with various Govt. Departments again before proceeding with the purchase.

In addition to the above, 12 more projects in several parts of Bangalore, are also coming up/proposed on Encroached Land by certain Big Builders (all these 12).

Tread with caution. Check your papers and survey no. if bought in Hebbal. The project is coming up on over 3.5 lakhs sq.ft. of land parcel.

Little more censored details soon....... keep checking this thread

  • Somewhere near Varthur Lake, an illegal 5 storeyed apartment building is under construction, close to a storm water drain (SWD).

BBMP and BDA rules do not permit construction of any building near any SWD, 25 metres from the center of the SWD on either side.

This above 5 storey building has BBMP approval and is being illegally constructed, obviously after illegal gratification has exchanged hands.

The building is near Meenakshi Layout in Varthur, near Varthur Lake.
