The Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) and Karnataka Housing Board (KHB), in a day long anti-encroachment drive, recovered over 8 acres of prime land in Yelahanka, valued at more than Rs 65 crore.
About 60 unauthorised dwelling units were removed with the assistance of the police. Tension prevailed for a while,as the public raised objection and tried to obstruct the demolition work by the BMTF. The police arrested five people who were later released. The BMTF restored the land to the Commissioner of KHB. Got back Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on Monday removed 14 illegal structures and recovered its two acre property in BTM layout off Outer Ring Road in the City. Illegal structures hadcome up on a CA site, earmarked for developing garden in the area, said a release.
