  • How is Stamp Duty Calculated?

    Hi Experts

i have below questions regarding stamp duty calculation

    1,
Stamp duty calculation = guideline value * UDS *.8
    or
stamp duty = price charged by builder per sq ft * UDS *.8

in general guideline value seems to be less than the price charged by builder.

    2,
Builders charge legal and registration charges for the apartment. Is this charge inclusive of the stamp duty? If not, what is this for?

    3,
Apart from the final price and other charges(service tax, registration, EB and sewage, maintenance etc.,) by the builder, Should I be aware of any other charges that might come up for buying an apartment?

    Maintainaince Deposite
    Floor Rise charge
    CarParking
    EB Deposite

    Owners Association Deposite

    etc....,
    .
