  • I would say that best place is Sector-14. And current market price is around 60000 to 70000 per sq.yd.

  • You can not classify sectors as good or bad based on rates. It depends on personal choice.

  • Protesters cane-charged outside Jindal’s house
Dist BJP chief hospitalised; police says agitators triggered clash

    Tribune News Service

    Hisar, June 12

The police cane-charged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) workers protesting outside Member of Parliament (MP) Naveen Jindal’s residence here today, resulting in serious injuries to district BJP president Kamal Gupta and some other workers of the two parties.

District BJP president Kamal Gupta bleeds profusely.

While state BJP president Ram Bilas Sharma and HJC supremo Kuldeep Bishnoi termed the police action as barbaric and unprovoked, Hisar Superintendent of Police B Satheesh Balan maintained that the protesters triggered the clash by throwing inflammable material inside Jindal’s house and on police officials, resulting in injuries to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sidharth Dhanda.

The incident occurred this morning when workers of the two parties started their protest outside the private residence of Jindal and his mother Savitri Jindal, a Haryana legislator, demanding the Congress MP’s arrest in the Coalgate scam.

The demonstration was going on peacefully when some protesters, who reportedly brought black vehicle engine oil with them, threw it on the main gate of the house. The oil got splashed on some police personnel’s uniforms and fell in Dhanda’s eyes.

The police swung into action and rained ‘lathis’ on protesting BJP and HJC workers. Gupta was hit on the head and he fell unconscious, bleeding profusely. He was taken to a private hospital nearby, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Balan said a case under Sections 332, 353, 147 and 148 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against 21 named activists and several unnamed activists of the two parties. Political leaders named in the first information report included Gupta, district HJC president Randhir Parihar and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha state president Mukesh Gaur.

The police arrested three agitators as well. Balan said the police had to use force after the agitators attacked policemen, two of whom had to be hospitalised.

Sharma termed the police action as an attack on democracy. “The Central Bureau of Investigation has booked Jindal for corruption in the Coalgate scam on the directions of the Supreme Court. Our party has the democratic right to demand his arrest. The police action proves that the government wants to shield him,” Sharma said.

Bishnoi warned the police officers responsible for the cane-charge that he would “teach them a lesson” after coming to power. “We are watching the officers who are dancing to the tunes of those in power today. I will show them their place after coming to power,” he asserted.

  • VDS benefits 20,000 power consumers
    Sushil Manav
    Tribune News Service

    Hisar, June 12

Over 20,000 electricity consumers in Haryana have so far availed benefit of regularisation of unauthorised extension of load, without paying any penalty, under the Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS) launched by the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN).

The consumers have declared over 85 megawatt of undisclosed load that has brought overloading of a number of transformers on record of the discoms.

"The discoms will set up additional about 1,000 transformers of different capacity to meet the increased load and to eliminate the overloading that has been revealed by declaring the load under the VDS," said Devender Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of the DHBVN and UHBVN.

He said there was no shortage of electricity in the state. Power was available on June 10 to the tune of 1,408 lakh units while the requirement as per schedule was that of 1,325 lakh units and last year, on the corresponding day, the discoms supplied 1,108 lakh units.

The system in the state yesterday took 6,419-MW peaking load.

He said if there was any hindrance in power supply at local level it was mainly due to overloading of the system.

The overloading was mainly due to unauthorised extension of load or theft of electricity, as the discoms do not allow putting more than 70 per cent regular load on the system.

He said the DHBVN and the UHBVN would launch a massive campaign to detect unauthorised extension of load after expiry of the VDS on June 30. Then, on detection of unauthorised load, penalty would be imposed as per rule.

He said the VDS was available to the consumers up to June 30.
