Illegal structures on five acres demolished

    TNN / May 27, 2022, 08:34 IST

Indore: Continuing its crackdown against land-mafias, Indore district administration on Thursday demolished illegal structures from a colony illegally developed in around five acres of land.

According to SDM Munish Sikarwar, an illegal colony was being developed in Gadarakhedi village in Ward-9 under Zone-1 by Dinesh Sahu, Bante Yadav, Yogesh Kala and Babli Thakur. “The action of removing structures that illegally came up on around five acres of land, which is registered by the name of one Manorama Khasgiwal and Madhuri Godbole ‘‘ he said.

After death of Khasgiwal and Godbole, the colonizers allegedly developed illegal colony on their land as the deceased didn’t have any heir to make a claim on the vacant property, the official sources said, adding that the colonizers had prepared fake documents of the vacant land and started developing a residential colony on it without obtaining required permissions from T&CP and Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC).

On the spot, the colonizers were selling plots on ‘diary’ (unauthorized/invalid documents of receiving payment) and therefore, local administration on Thursday roped in an earthmoving machine and demolished illegal structure along with cement concrete road from the spot, the SDM said, adding that IMC officials have been instructed to lodge an FIR against the colonizers in the matter.

Meanwhile, some people from the financially weaker section, who purchased plots in the illegal colony, have approached the senior administrative officials to help them recover their investment amount. TNN
