  • Builder demanding maintenance 6 months in advance to get flat registration done : is this legal ?

1 booked a flat in sonepat and paid maintenance for it as well till may 2020 on possession. But due to some reasons which were not disclosed to us by the builder at the time of booking , registration of the flat was not done until now,..Now, when the registration has started the builder is insisting on us to pay the advance maintenance for the next 3 years, then only they will take the registration process forward.. when I told them that 6 months are still left and we will pay the maintenance charges , he is telling the registration papers will not be signed by them until that amount is recieved....

Can u name the Builder & the Project? An thread may already exist on the Project and there could be other members facing similar issues. If an thread on the Project exists already, this thread would then be required to get merged with the original existing thread.
